Lucid Med Tec II, Ltd. : History
Lucid Med Tec II, Ltd was formed in January 2000 to be a company driven to develop and market products that would provide compassionate technology for the wellness of the world. While the initial focus was on burned children, we were able to create other products that help both people and animals with dealing with and healing a variety of skin ailments.
Unlike many other companies, we didn’t want to just develop something to put on the market quickly just to make money. We wanted something that would actually work. We spent several years doing studies in conjunction with various universities on wounds and the factors that affect healing and scarring. (The results of the studies can be found in the Technical Bulletins section of this website.) These studies were focused on the common causes that complicate the natural healing process, such as bacteria and fungus.
The results of these studies were all that we had hoped and more. However, while we were waiting for the studies to be completed, we didn’t sit idle. We were able to prove to the United States Patent Office that the concepts we had would be beneficial. Our first US Patent was issued in 2003 for our original formulation. Others have since followed and we still have applications for patents pending, both in the United States and Internationally.
While the university studies showed us the products would work in a controlled environment, we set out to see how they worked in the real world. Friends, family, neighbors, anyone who was willing, tried our products. And the attitude of “hey, let’s try it on this” showed us that the things we tested for in the university studies was just the tip of the iceberg of ailments for which our products were effective. Years later, we’re still discovering conditions that our products work effectively to heal.
While we are continuing our research to further develop our burn product for use on children, we are also actively working to create additional products to treat even more of the ailments that humans and animals encounter on a regular basis.
